On offer is very sought after Longines chronograph, circa 1940s. It is affectionately referred to by collectors as the "Doppio Linguetta" or "double tongue" due to the dual tabs on the snap back waterproof/oversized case. Most notably, it houses the legendary 13ZN flyback movement which is widely considered one of the best chronograph movements ever produced. This piece comes from a respected vintage collector and friend who discovered it and promptly brought it to Longines for a complete service and archive documentation, adding to its provenance. The archive confirms a sale date of July, 1945 in Argentina.

Longines service was extensive and included a complete overhaul, replacement of the pushers and restoration of the crown and hands. Overall, it has remained in beautiful vintage condition and benefited greatly from its visit to Switzerland. We believe the dial had work done in the distant past but we've priced it accordingly and Longines would not issue an extract if it were incorrect. It shows some service marks that are not distracting and a lovely parchment patina, adding warmth. The case appears to be unpolished and remains sharp which is very uncommon for this era. For anyone looking to get into this significant reference at a fair pricepoint, this example offers immense character all the documentation one could wish for. 

Dial: We believe it has been worked on in the distant past and have priced it accordingly as such. There are some light service marks visible in the macro shots but they aren't distracting. It has a beautiful parchment patina adding warmth and character. Bezel: Appears unpolished with normal signs of use. Hands: Are matching. They were restored with Longines service. Case: Appears unpolished which is extremely rare in this era. Normal signs of use consistent with age and all markings are still clearly legible. The pushers were replaced and the crown was restored by Longines during their service. Bracelet: Two piece leather strap in brown with generic buckle. Crystal: Clear. Accessories: Archive extract, service box, service warranty/documentation, service receipt. The movement is running well on our timegrapher and comes with Longines warranty through October 2027.
