Marathon H3 Military w/Provenance
- Unit price
This is one of several watches from the private collection of a United States military veteran of 31 years who was deployed in Iraq and ultimately stationed as a Senior Military Representative at the Pentagon. His merits include the Bronze Star Medal and a Purple Heart, among many others; a career which took him around the globe, all the while he collected watches and took great care to keep them in perfect condition. Some watches he picked up at flea markets, some were gifts from other soldiers.
Issued in June of 2000, this Afghani conflict era Marathon marks the turn of the 21st century. By this point, the specification for the "Type F" was designed to be ultra lightweight and stealthy with its anti-reflective black resin case. Interestingly, Marathon utilized tritium gas tubes for the dial and "syringe" style hand set. They are one of very few manufactures still utilizing tritium to this day. We've always been huge proponents of military watches for their unique place in the tool watch space and finding one with real provenance is just icing on the cake!
