Tissot introduced the first anti-magnetic wristwatch in 1929-30, branded as the Antimagnetique. In a quickly electrifying world, this was a response for a demand for a timepiece not affected by magnetic fields, which Tissot successfully developed and left a lasting mark on horology. 

This particular example, circa 1940s is housed in stainless steel and features an absolutely incredible black gilt dial with Arabic numerals and sub-seconds at 6 o-clock. The case is 30mm which is suitable for smaller to medium sized wrists (roughly the same presence as a Patek ref. 96). The gilt dial is easily one of the most attractive we have come across. The radium luminous material has aged to a clean and warm golden hue, matching across the indices, hands and dial signature. It has also remained very glossy. Notably, the case is in equally fantastic vintage condition with thick, even lugs and crisp markings on its back. For anyone looking for a top-grade vintage piece at an affordable price point, this is a great opportunity for your collection.

Dial: There is a touch of lume loss at 10 and 2. Overall, stunning preservation for its age with mirror gloss. All of the radium indices have aged to a clean and warm golden hue. Very minimal signs of age. Hands: Are matching and all of their lume is stable. Case: Fantastic with thick and even lugs. Edges remain sharp and caseback markings are still clearly legible. Correct unsigned crown. Bracelet: Two piece and supple brown leather with generic buckle. Crystal: Clear.
