DOXA’s Aqua Lung models already hold a special place among modern collectors, and the 2017 Sub 300 Aqua Lung Searambler stands among the brand’s most sought-after contemporary releases, limited to just 300 pieces worldwide. The "Aqua Lung” logo on a watch references the historic partnership with the pioneering diving equipment company founded by Jacques Cousteau and Émile Gagnan, inventors of the first “Aqua-Lung” open-circuit scuba regulator in 1943. Offered here is an even more unusual example: a documented factory prototype produced outside of the numbered commercial run. Unlike standard production models, which feature an orange minute hand, this watch retains a fully black handset configuration alongside subtle lume variations throughout the dial and hands, reflecting its development-phase origins. Notably, the watch is unnumbered, and to the best of current knowledge, this configuration appears to be unique.

The watch has been reviewed by respected DOXA collectors and discussed directly with DOXA officials, with supporting documentation available upon request confirming its status as a legitimate factory prototype. It remains in excellent overall condition with only light signs of wear, has been pressure tested to 2 bar, and is running properly with all original components intact.
