The Rolex Daytona debuted in the early 1960s as a purpose-built chronograph for professional racing drivers, taking its name from Daytona International Speedway after Rolex became the track’s official timekeeper in 1962. Its association with Paul Newman helped cement its legendary status, while explosive collector demand emerged in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Today, the Daytona remains a cornerstone of any well-rounded collection, combining racing pedigree, ergonomic proportions, and enduring design. Released at Baselworld in 2017, and received by collectors with great praise, the modern Oysterflex takes that formula a step further, pairing the Daytona case with a sleek, integrated rubber bracelet. This makes for a perfect balance of sport, luxury, and understated sophistication and what many consider to be its most comfortable format overall.
This white gold example, circa 2023 is the final year iteration of the ref. 116519LN before it evolved to the larger case shape, making it better suited for small to medium sized wrists. This piece comes to us directly from the original owner, remaining in completely untouched condition with everything from factory, including its original purchase receipt in '23. It houses a silver/grey dial that collectors affectionately nicknamed "ghost" for its different moods depending on light environment - any way you put it, the white gold Oysterflex is arguably a perfect work of design and equally well-suited for daily wear as it is for special occasions.
Dial: Flawless.
Bezel/Insert: Mint.
Hands: Are matching.
Case: Is completely untouched and still retains some factory stickers at both sides of the bracelet ends and on the outer caseback. There are light signs of use highlighted in the macro photograpy but nothing distracting. Correct signed crown.
Bracelet: Is untouched. The clasp has normal signs of use. It can be touched up to like new before shipping but we'd suggest leaving its factory finish. The current straps will fit an approximate 6.5 inch wrist (other sizes can be ordered through Rolex).
Crystal: Clear.
Accessories: Inner and outer boxes, warranty papers, serialized and wax tag, all booklets, paper wallet and original purchase receipt from 2023.
