Designed by Gerald Genta in 1972, the Royal Oak was revolutionary for its time. It introduced the concept of a luxury sports watch made from stainless steel, challenging traditional norms of watchmaking that favored precious metals like gold. The Royal Oak's unique design language featuring an octagonal bezel with exposed screws, integrated bracelet and "tapisserie" dial helped the model build a distinctive identity for the brand and just as relevant today as ever.

Released in the 1990's the ref. 56175TT was a limited edition of 2000 pieces for professional golfer Nick Faldo. It is a scaled-down version of the iconic Genta design with a width of 33mm and ultra-slim height of just 5mm. We believe this sizing is not only extremely elegant but perfect for smaller to medium size wrists. What makes this model particularly special is its tantalum and steel construction. Tantalum is extremely hard, dense and has a dark grey shade. Needless to say, it feels more exotic and special on wrist than the usual choice precious metals. This example has remained in very nice neo-vintage condition with a clean looking case/bracelet well-preserved dial. It also included some service papers adding to its provenance. Dial: Has some typical aging we see in other AP "waffle" style dials. Overall, nicely preserved and shows some light patina. Hands: Are matching. The minute hand has some lume missing but they could be color match down the road. Bezel: Nice preservation with no notable marks in its brushing. There is some wear on the outer edge that's less distracting. Case: Light signs of use consistent with age and retains sharp factory chamfers. Correct signed crown. Crystal: Is likely a service replacement as its sitting a bit lower into the bezel. It is not distracting and could be swapped down the road without affecting value. Bracelet: Is very tight and will fit approximately a 7.5inch wrist. Two of the links have some wear visible in the macro shots. They could either be laser welded or turned inside the bracelet if added. Accessories: Service papers. The movement is running well on our timegrapher.
