When thinking of the most iconic military watches ever produced, it would be hard not to place the Benrus Type 1 in the top 5 on the list (up there with the Rolex MilSub, Tornek-Rayville etc.) The unique and ergonomic asymmetrical case shape of these watches went on to influence later mil-spec pieces from the 70s to today. Perhaps most noteworthy is its pure and well-laid-out dial design, which we believe holds its own against the brilliance of the Rolex Explorer 1.

This particular example was issued in April of 1979 and remains in stunning vintage condition. The dial has a warm even patina with some minor wear from age and service. The case has some light oxidation which is normal to find in this reference. It still retains its correct "dimple" crown. The bezel insert is also very well preserved but no cracks. Notably, this example comes on an original single pass strap which adds volumes of character to this model. For anyone looking for an honest example, this piece even retains its original crystal which shows some crazing from age, making for a completely correct spec for the discerning collector.

There are some scratches and some light peeling which is common to see in these but it has no chips or cracks which is a big plus for this example. Hands: Are matching and all of their lume is stable. Case: Normal signs of use consistent with age. Correct "dimple" signed crown. Bracelet: Original and very desirable single pass strap in black.
