Breguet is a renowned Swiss luxury watchmaker with a rich history that dates back over two centuries. The brand was founded in 1775 by Abraham-Louis Breguet, a watchmaker of great significance in the horological world. One of Breguet's most impactful contributions to horology was the invention of the tourbillon - a mechanism that compensates for errors in timekeeping caused by gravity's effects on the movement of the watch. Breguet patented the tourbillon in 1801, and it remains a highly regarded and sought-after complication in mechanical watches to this day. He is also credited with devising the wrist watch, inventing self-winding movements, balance springs, Breguet hands, numerals and guilloche. 

The is the first generation of Breguet Marine Chronograph. It is an important watch for Breguet in that it was the beginning of what has been a successful line for the brand, and is still being produced to this day. However, it is even more important in the eyes of collectors because it was designed by Jorg Hysek, the brains behind the legendary Vacheron 222. Given the time frame when this was introduced (shortly after Daniel Roth left Breguet to create his eponymous brand) it is very possible that both Hysek and Roth collaborated on this model during its R&D, making it even more special. This example remains in fantastic condition, and appears unpolished. It comes with its 18k deployant and is ready to enjoy for decades to come.

Case: Appears unpolished and very nicely preserved overall with sharp, thick and even lugs. There are a couple of light scuffs near the lower pusher highlighted in photography. They are not distracting. Hallmarks are deep and crisp. Correct pushers and signed crown. The watch just received a brand new set of lug screws from Breguet ($300), and the rest of the screws on the case show no wear.

Bracelet: High quality blue leather strap made in Paris. Gator pattern with matte finish.

Accessories: Original Breguet deployant buckle in 18k yellow gold.
