The Bulova Sea King or “Whale” is one of our favorite models from the well-regarded American brand. These are not doubt conversation pieces that offer an incredible amount of charm. One might argue that part of watch collecting is an exercise of the imagination for various use cases. For wearing this one, the iconic summer destinations such as Marthas Vineyard, Nantucket and Newport, Rhode Island all come to mind.

The blue dial variants of the “Whale” are particularly special to us due to their beauty and more obvious connection to the ocean. This example is probably the most attractive we’ve come across to date. Don’t sleep on this very special piece!

CONDITION REPORT

Dial: Some light aging near the 11 o-clock marker but it is not distracting. All of the tritium plots are present and have evenly colored.

Hands: Are matching and all of their lume is stable.

Case: Very sharp with thick and even lugs. There are some scratches on the front upper right portion of they case but they are shallow. Correct unsigned crown.

Crystal: Clear.

The movement was recently inspected and regulated by our watchmaker, it is running great on our timegrapher and comes with our 1-year mechanical warranty.
