First released in the 70s, the Santos Carrée was Cartier's attempt to offer an accessible sport watch in both two tone (ref. 2961) and in steel (ref. 2960). At 29mm, the Carrée (square in French), case is perfectly sized to be the perfect blend of elegance and sporty. One might argue that today, more than ever, this model is the Rolex Datejust of Cartier.

A much more seldom seen ref. 2960 Carrée "Massif" however is the 18k example we see here. Finding one in the right condition is getting harder as each year passes but worth the pursuit. This model is a true gem in yellow gold, elevating its feel on wrist to a unique combination of bold design and refinement. We are thrilled to be able to offer this lovely example which remains in excellent vintage condition. The case is strong with thick and even lugs and retains a strong looking bezel. The dial is also in mint condition and has a beautiful warm and even patina. To top it off, this piece even retains its warranty papers, box, folder and comes with 3 Santos booklets. The bracelet remains tight and will fit an approximate 7.5 inch wrist. 

Dial: Phenomenal preservation with no crazing or blemishes under magnification. It has taken a light and even looking patina, adding some warmth. Bezel: Remains strong with normal signs of use. Hands: Are matching. Case: Sharp with thick and even lugs. Light wear overall. Correct crown with a well-perserved cabochon. Bracelet: Remains tight with no distracting marks. Will fit up to an approximate 7.5 inch wrist. One of the additional links is not matching but is genuine Cartier and could be sold off easily. Crystal: Clear. Accessories: Box, warranty card, folder and 3 Santos booklets. Authentic Cartier service pouch for storage and travel. The movement is running well on our timegrapher and comes with our 1-year mechanical warranty.
