Cartier's CPCP line (Collection Privée Cartier Paris) began in 1998 and was developed to expand their offering beyond jewelry and into high-end watchmaking. The majority of CPCP are limited editions and are now sought by collectors as Cartier has moved into the fold of top brands discussed today. 

The Tank A Vis is a design inspired by Cartier's famed 1931 Tank Étanche, which came about as a request from the Pasha of Marrakesh for a water-resistant watch in order to be able to tell the time while swimming, all the while, be elegant enough to meet with other world leaders. The Tank Étanche clearly shares similar DNA to the Tank A Vis and many sources say that the Cartier Pasha model was also inspired by him. The white guilloche dial of the Tank A Vis is typical of many CPCP offerings and adds nice texture to the piece. We believe this model makes a great option for someone looking for a classic Tank but prefers more wrist presence than the Tank Louis or other variants. This example remains in fantastic shape with a very strong and well-preserved case displaying crisp hallmarks. It includes the factory 18k Cartier deployant buckle and is ready to enjoy for years to come.
