The Cartier Tank has achieved iconic status in the world of watch design and, with the exception of a few distinctive variations, has maintained a consistent aesthetic throughout its extensive production history. The first commercially available Tank Normale was introduced in 1919, having been inspired by the treads of the French Renault FT-17 tank used in WW1. Throughout the decades, Tank watches have been documented on the wrists of notable figures from Jackie Kennedy to Andy Warhol. Today, Cartier feels more relevant in the worlds of fashion, music and popular culture than ever before. 

This re-adaptation of Cartier's iconic Tank Louis Cartier watch is a larger sized variant coming in at 25.5mm x 33.7mm. For some, the original Tank Louis could be viewed as potentially too small and this modern interpretation adds just the right amount of wrist presence. We love how the green lacquer dial contrasts with the 18k yellow gold case and while the factory green strap is nice, we recommend setting it aside for something more toned down and supple to complement the dial. This is one of the first examples to come to market and remains in complete and mint condition.
