The Cartier Tank has achieved iconic status in the world of watch design and, with the exception of a few distinctive variations, has maintained a consistent aesthetic throughout its extensive production history. The first commercially available Tank Normale was introduced in 1919, having been inspired by the treads of the French Renault FT-17 tank used in WW1. Throughout the decades, Tank watches have been documented on the wrists of notable figures from Jackie Kennedy to Andy Warhol. Today, Cartier feels more relevant in the worlds of fashion, music and popular culture than ever before. 

This Tank Louis, circa 1970s  has remained in wonderful vintage condition. The dial is very clean for Cartier of this era and the case has remained in strong condition. To boot, the caseback has taken on a stunning patina that's hard to capture on camera but adds another level of charm. This piece includes a genuine Cartier 18k buckle and just came back from a complete service so its ready to enjoy for decades to come.

Dial: The "Swiss" signed dial has remained in wonderful condition. There are a couple of light age spots visible in the macro shots but overall, very clean for a 70's enamel dial Cartier. Hands: Are matching. Case: Excellent with thick and even proportions. All of the markings/hallmarks are still deep and visible. Correct crown. Bracelet: Two piece leather strap in brown with 18k Cartier buckle. Crystal: Clear. Accessories: Genuine Cartier service pouch for storage and travel. Service papers.
