The Cartier Tank has achieved iconic status in the world of watch design and, with the exception of a few distinctive variations, has maintained a consistent aesthetic throughout its extensive production history. The first commercially available Tank Normale was introduced in 1919, having been inspired by the treads of the French Renault FT-17 tank used in WW1. Throughout the decades, Tank watches have been documented on the wrists of notable figures from Jackie Kennedy to Andy Warhol. Today, Cartier feels more relevant in the worlds of fashion, music and popular culture than ever before. 

The Must De Cartier line was brought to market in the 1970s as a more accessible price point. This was done with the use of electroplating cases vs using solid gold as well as by leveraging quartz movements for the most part, however, some pieces were also produced with mechanical movements. This particular mechanical piece features an elegant yellow/"lemon" toned dial with classic Roman numerals. It remains in nice vintage and displays some light wear, offering character. This piece makes for a perfect daily driver and comes with its plated Cartier pin buckle and a genuine Cartier pouch for storage and travel.

Dial: There is some light crazing as with most examples and it is even across the dial. No distracting blemishes and presents well to the naked eye. Hands: Are matching.
