Gallet are recognized by collectors for having produced some of the most beautiful and high grade chronographs in the mid 1900s. They are often referred to as "the master of the chronograph" and primarily leverage both Valjoux movements as well as Excelsior Park movements. Although not widely known, for over 60 years, Excelsior Park played a pivotal role in the production of movements for well-known brands such as Girard-Perregaux, Zenith and of course, Gallet. Initially specializing in stopwatches, they later expanded their production to include the creation of movements for chronograph wristwatches. EP found success following WWII but encountered challenges during the Quartz Crisis, resulting in its absorption by Gallet and eventual disappearance in the 1980s. 

Named after it's "45" minute sub-register, The Multichron 45 is a highly elegant chronograph option for those who appreciate the off the beaten path finds. We love the Arabic numerals and the fact that this example features a non-luminous dials/hands making it easier to preserve for decades to come. The icing on the cake, however is the fact that this piece has remained in absolutely stunning and near new old stock condition, making it a truly special vintage discovery.
