Glycine Airman GMT - 1960s
- Unit price
- /per
Glycine has been making watch movements since 1914, but they forged their place in history in the 1950s manufacturing military watches. This is one of their most iconic watches. A proud member of the “Dirty Dozen,” the Glycine Airman features 24-hour dial, a date function, and a locking, rotating 24-hour bezel that helps pilots track two time zones. This early GMT comes with a storied history in combat, and finding examples in this condition is becoming harder by the day.
Condition
Collector grade example. The watch has even wear throughout. Very well preserved dial with gorgeous patina. The hands are period correct and contain all of their lume. The case is very sharp and the bezel still has all of its painted text preserved (not a common thing to see on this reference). Period correct crystal with flush-fit box date window. Correct crown and screw down for the rotating bezel. Note that the hacking pin is not present in the watch. We've opted to not add one back in after hearing they can be fragile. We can put the next owner in contact with a specialist in case they choose to have it added. The movement just fully serviced and comes with our 1-year mechanical warranty.
