Glycine Airman GMT - 1966
- Unit price
- /per
Without a doubt the nicest Glycine Airman GMT we’ve come across yet. This Vietname era pilot’s watch dates to circa 1966 and has extremely attractive patina across all of the tritium lume. One of the more interesting features of these pieces is the hacking system which allows the seconds hand to stop when the crown is pulled (to allow for more accurate timing in the field). Over time many of these were inadvertently broken by watchmakers and it is unusual to find one such as this which is still functioning. A true collector piece and we look forward to finding it a great home.
CONDITION REPORT
Dial: Extremely well-preserved with even patina throughout the matte dial. There are no notable blemishes to point out under magnification. The tritium markers are all stabile and consistent in color.
Hands: All correct for the reference. The tritium matches evenly across the hands and to that of the lume on the dial.
Case: Very sharp and appears unpolished. The lugs are thick and even. Honest wear throughout. The caseback still has some light engraving visible. Etching on the “cross hatch” crown is correct for the reference.
Bezel: The 24-hour rotating bezel has a few scratches but contains all of its painted Arabic numerals and remains in excellent shape overall.
Crystal: Displays some scratches but it is correct.
