Hamilton was founded in 1892 in Lancaster, PA and today remains one of the most important watch brands with American roots. Many collectors would consider their military contracts a crucial aspect of their success and relevance having provided "GI" (general issue) models for the U.S. and other countries, notably for the Vietnam and Gulf War. 

This "Type 1 Navigator" example, issued in September of '70. It is believe to have only been issued for one month making it one of the rarest and most sought after military/tool watches of the Vietnam era. This piece remains in excellent vintage condition with a nicely patina'd dial/hands. The 36mm parkerized case houses a Hamilton cal. 684 with antimagnetic dust cover. It shows honest wear throughout and a correct unsigned crown. It includes its period correct single pass woven strap in black. For any military watch enthusiast looking for a truly seldom seen find, we believe this is one of the key American pieces to have in your collection.
