The Carrera was introduced in 1963 by Jack Heuer and saw many iterations throughout its production run. Notably, the model's focus was for automobile racing and featured a highly legible chronograph layout designed for timing land speeds. Today it is one of the brands most celebrated designs (now Tag Heuer) for its extensive racing pedigree and use with household names from Mario Andretti to Niki Lauda. 

Here we have a ref. 2447D, circa 1960s which is not only the first Carrera ref. but the "first execution" of this dial iteration. Heuer produced different dial scales from tachymeters to pulsometers, yachting timers and decimals which are present in this version. The "decimal" dial shows 10th of a second rather than 60ths which were better suited for accuracy in scientific research/testing. This example has remained in lovely vintage condition with a well-preserved dial/hands showing minimal wear for their age. The case has honest signs of use but remains sharp with thick and even lugs. For anyone looking for the charm of a vintage chronograph with some added practicality, this piece is understated and a joy to behold on wrist.

Dial: Shows very nice preservation. The sub-dials are clean. All of the tritium plots are present with the exception of 3 o-clock. Minimal signs of wear for this era and presents very well overall. Bezel: Normal signs of use consistent with age. Hands: Are matching. Their tritium lume is stable. Case: Remains very sharp with thick and even lugs. There is a ding on the upper left lug but it is superficial. Normal signs of use consistent with age. Correct pushers and signed crown. Bracelet: Heuer signed pin buckle and two piece leather racing strap in black. Crystal: Clear.
