An IWC circa 1950s that features the iconic in-house caliber 89 movement, touted both for its accuracy and robustness. The 18k yellow gold case features elegant “shark fin” lugs which make this piece feel both elegant and fairly substantial on wrist for a watch of this size.

CONDITION REPORT

Dial: Has NOT been refinished like most examples of this reference. Extremely clean and well-preserved. No notable blemishes under magnification.

Hands: Correct for the reference.

Case: There are some tool marks on the backs of the lugs and the 18k hallmark is a bit soft, perhaps from some polishing in that area. Otherwise, it remains in excellent shape with sharp edges as well as thick and even lugs. Correct unsigned crown.

Bezel: Remains sharp and well-preserved.

Crystal: Clear.

Accessories: Adjustable mesh bracelet in steel. The gold tone matches the watch spot on and adds some wrist presence.
