Lanco, also known as Langendorf Watch Company, was a Swiss watchmaker founded in 1873. It could be said that Lanco was a pioneer in industrial revolution, producing tobacco and chicory products on a large-scale at its initial conception in the 1850s. With the changing times, Lanco’s production shifted to ebauches for other companies, but by the first World War, Lanco began production on military watches. Given their high-quality parts coveted by other notable companies, their own watches were also well produced and durable.

This particular Barracuda skin diver is an early mk1 variant and arguably its most beautiful iteration due to its bakelite bezel. These models are also fantastic value due to their gorgeous gilt dials (similar to Blancpain of the era), notably featuring large Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o-clock and generous lume plots. Many collectors often refer to an "aura" a vintage watch can have and we believe the Barracuda has this in spades, punching well above its weight. 

Dial: Fantastic preservation with its dark mirror finish still present. All of the plots are full and evenly aged to a warm patina. Bezel insert: Phenomenal preservation with no cracking. Beautiful custard patina in the numerals. Hands: Are matching and all of their lume is stable. Case: Remains sharp with distinct chamfers. Letting on the back still clear and crips. Unsigned crown.
