Omega Seamaster 300 - 165.024 - 1966
- Unit price
- /per
The Omega Seamaster 300 has strong ties to military use as well as to several appearances over the years with James Bond. The reference 165.024 comes from what many would consider to be the "golden age" of diving/tool watches and collectors have been scooping up this model for some time. Certain examples even featured the exact same "sword" style handset as the now mythical Rolex Military Submariner. This example does not have "sword" hands, it lacks a date feature which is a welcome thing for the symmetry of the dial.
This particular watch on offer has some heavier dial patina but a nice case and a fantastic lume-filled bakelite bezel, making it a great piece wear and enjoy for years to come.
CONDITION REPORT
Dial: The tritium plots show slight degradation under UV inspection. They are mostly full and have aged to an interesting green/brown tone.
The tritium plots haven't aged completely evenly but they are all present and full.
Bezel insert: The bakelite "flat 1" insert shows excellent preservation with no cracks. There are some light age marks, most notably near 2 o-clock but they do not distract from its beauty.
Hands: Have been color matched to the dial. Tritium in the sweep seconds hand is original.
Case: Lightly polished previously and light signs of use consistent with age. Engravings are still visible on the caseback. Correct signed crown.
Crystal: Clear.
