The Omega Seamaster 300 holds an important place on the list of iconic dive watches of the 1950s and 60s, or what many consider to be the "golden era" of tool watches. The ref. 165.024 is undoubtedly one of the most desirable vintage pieces Omega produced and is coveted today for its brutalist design and in certain cases well-documented military history in certain batches of production. With charming aging and patina makes it easy to understand why collectors have come to covet these divers so much. 

Not all variants of this ref. had the distinctive "sword" hour hand (shared by the highly desirable Rolex "MilSub" or "big triangle" marker at 12 o-clock, but this particular example boasts both of these distinctive and desirable features, which were initially intended to add legibility under high-stress situations such as military use. This piece has remained in stunning vintage condition with beautifully preserved dial/hands as well as sharp and unpolished case/bracelet. Adding to its provenance is an Archive Extract from Omega confirming its production on January 4th, 1968 and delivery to Hong Kong. We couldn't be more thrilled to offer this true collector grade piece to its next custodian. 

Dial: Fantastic preservation with warm and evenly aged tritium markers. No notable wear under magnification. Many examples of this reference have aged to a less attractive color but this particular piece boasts beautiful yellow patina. Bezel insert: Excellent with no chips or cracks. Beautiful patina throughout. Hands: Are matching. All of their lume is clean and stable. There is a touch of degradation in the hour hand but that could be professionally stabilized down the road for peace of mind. Case: Appears completely unpolished with sharp original chamfers. Honest signs of use consistent with age. Correct signed crown. Bracelet: Correct Omega 1039 flat-link stretch bracelet. Appears unpolished and displays light stretch. Will fit an approximate 8.5 inch wrist. Crystal: Has a light amount of crazing towards its center and devoid of wear otherwise. Accessories: All the "wabi-sabi" a tool watch collector could dream up. The movement is running well on our timegrapher and comes with our 1-year mechanical warranty.
