Omega Seamaster 300 - 165.024 - "No Date/Sword Hands" - *Unpolished*

The Omega Seamaster 300 holds an important place in the list of iconic dive watches of the 1950s and 60s, or what many consider to be the "golden era" of tool watches. The ref. 165.024 is undoubtedly one of the most desirable vintage pieces Omega produced and is coveted today for its bold and highly legible luminous dial/hands and lumed bakelite insert. Their brutalist design combined with charming aging and patina makes it easy to understand why collectors have come to covet these divers so much. Not to mention their well-documented military history in certain batches of production. Not all variants of this ref. had the distinctive "sword" hour hand but that brings us to why we stocked this particular example boasting this desirable feature which was initially intended to add even more legibilty under high stress situations like military use.
This particular piece has a fantastic amount of charm to offer and really embodies the "wabi-sabi" x factor we hear about so much in vintage tool watches. It's a survivor with a sharp unpolished case/bracelet yet has honest feeling condition throughout and was undoubtedly enjoyed through the decades. The dial, bezel insert and hand set have a gorgeous custard colored patina adding plenty of warmth. Overall, this vintage example feels like a special collector piece for the story it tells and we're confident it has many more miles to travel and smiles to give.
