The Omega Speedmaster is a legendary timepiece that has achieved iconic status in the world of horology. Originally introduced in 1957 as a racing chronograph, the Speedmaster gained worldwide fame as the watch that accompanied NASA astronauts on all six lunar missions. In 1969, the Speedmaster became the first watch to be worn on the moon, cementing its place in history. The CK2998 Limited Edition is a vintage-inspired take on the original '59 Speedmaster ref. 2998 and the archetype for the Speedmaster as many know it. It was the first model to feature a black bezel (perviously steel - now blue in the modern edition) and many of its key dial, case features made it a jumping point for Omegas "golden era" of Speedy production. Released in '16 new LE model was produced in a relatively small batch of 2998 pieces in blue/white (there was another black/"Panda" version that came later in '18 and runs on a high-grade manual winding 1861 caliber. This particular example comes as a complete set in excellent pre-owned condition, showing only minimal surface wear. The warranty papers are dated '16, making it a first year example and it includes a comfortable steel Forster beads of rice bracelet and Omega NATO-style strap for added versatility. 

Dial: No notable wear under magnification. Bezel insert: Excellent with no notable wear. Hands: Are matching. Case: Light signs of use with minimal surface wear. The lugs remains thick, even and have strong chamfers. Correct pushers and signed crown. Bracelet: Omega strap in blue gator with Omega pin buckle. Crystal: Clear. Accessories: Full set, including inner and outer boxes, warranty papers, booklets and wallet. A steel Forstner beads of rice bracelet and Omega NATO-style strap have been added to sweeten the deal. All functions of the watch operate flawlessly. The movement is running well on our timegrapher and comes with our 6-month mechanical warranty.
