The Patek Philippe Calatrava stands as a testament to one of the most esteemed watch designs from the 20th century, with its origins dating back to the 1930s, commencing with the iconic ref. 96. Today it remains what most collectors consider to be the archetype of a time-only dress watch.

This ref. 2455R in 18k rose gold measures at 34mm with a Padellone stepped case. It houses a very rare rose gold dial, making it highly attractive, seldom seen and what collectors refer to as "pink on pink." This really is a prized look for a "true vintage" Patek find for its harmony and elegance. This example has remained in excellent vintage condition with a very well-preserved dial, displaying a strong raised enamel signature. The case retains good dimensions and a shows an engraving from when it was first gifted in 1954 as a commemoration for 25 years of service. (Note that this could be removed if so desired by its next custodian). Recently serviced by Patek Philippe in '23, it comes with a copy of the service invoice. This piece also comes with an 18k rose gold Patek pin buckle and Patek strap. An Archive extract has been requested to be included in the set.

Dial: There is a light age spot between 11 and 12 o-clock but it isn't distracting. Overall, stunning condition with a strong raised enamel signature. Hands: Are matching and well preserved. Case: Has an engraving adding to its provenance. It was a gift from 1954. The next owner can leave it as is or have it lasered/polished off. Overall nice looking vintage case dimensions with even lugs, no distracting wear and a correct signed crown. Crystal: Clear.
