The Rolex Date (34mm) is undoubtedly discussed less than its 36mm siblings; the now iconic Datejust and Day-Date. That doesn't mean the model should be overlooked however and we'd argue that the slightly smaller dimensions feel even more elegant on wrist, especially in yellow gold.

This particular 18k example, circa 1973 houses a rare "mosaic" gold dial which offers interesting character. This piece has remained in absolutely stunning vintage condition with a mint dial and unpolished case/bracelet. The ref. 1503 is a model we don't often see and this example is truly elevated by its rare dial variant. For anyone looking for a precious metal watch, this model does a good job of riding a line of opulence and being just toned down enough with its scale and age being vintage gold, which we prefer over the flashy polished and reflective surfaces of most modern pieces. It should also be noted that these vintage Rolex Date pieces are well suited for leather straps for more formal occasions. Dial: Is mint and fantastic for its age. No blemishes to note of under magnification. All of the lume plots are full and aged cleanly and beautifully. Bezel: Nicely preserved with no notable blemises. Hands: Are matching and all of their lume is stable. Case: Extremely well preserved and appears unpolished with sharp edges and lug holes. Correct signed crown. Bracelet: Is near mint and appears unpolished. This variant is built for more flexibility from factory and wears effortly on wrist. Will fit an approximate 8 inch wrist.
