The Rolex Datejust is one of the most significant models in the history of watchmaking. First introduced in 1945, it was the first self-winding wristwatch to display the date on the dial. The Datejust quickly became a symbol of prestige and luxury, and has been worn by some of the world's most influential figures, including US President Eisenhower and Martin Luther King Jr. Over the years, Rolex has continued to refine the design of the Datejust, adding new features and innovations while staying true to its classic look and feel. Today, the Datejust remains one of the most popular and recognizable watches in the world, a testament to its timeless design and enduring appeal.

This ladies Datejust is without a doubt one of the most exciting finds CCNY has sourced yet. Any exotic dials in Rolex Day-Dates and Datejusts from coral, jasper, lapis or onyx are of course very special and becoming more coveted by collectors. One of the most interesting dial materials collectors refer to as the "Jurassic Park" is actually made from none other than a piece of fossil (with diamond indices). While rare, some of these examples have been well documented in 36mm sized Day-Dates. This ladies model however is the only documented example we've been able to find with this dial cased in 18k gold. (There was only one two tone example found so far that we know of). We're thrilled to offer this absolutely stunning vintage example that boasts not only a flawless dial but an extremely well preserved and unpolished case. Ironically, Jurassic Park was first released in 1993 which is the same year of this watch's production (S) serial. Whether you're a junkie for 90's nostalgia, or are hunting an incredibly striking and unique Rolex, this could be just the ticket! 

Dial: The fossil dial is completely mint and devoid of any cracks or chips. Bezel: Appears unpolished and no notable blemishes. Hands: Are matching. Case: Phenomenal condition for its age with light signs of use. Appears completely unpolished with deep and crisp hallmarks. Thick and even lugs. Correct signed crown. It's also worth noting that the case has never been previously mounted on a bracelet. Bracelet: 18k Rolex buckle and custom made gator strap in purple. Crystal: Clear.
