The Rolex Daytona came to market in the early 60's and was originally designed for professional racing drivers. Its name derived from the famous Daytona International Speedway after Rolex had become their official timekeeper in '62. The model's association with the late actor Paul Newman helped put it on the map, but it wasn't until the late 90's to early 2000s that waitlists and pent-up demand were felt in the collector market. Today any Daytona can be looked at as the cornerstone of a well-rounded collection. It's easy to understand why given its ergonomic design, fantastic racing pedigree and notable auction results. 

Updates to the latest iteration of the Daytona came in '23, were well-received, especially for many vintage enthusiasts. For one, the sub-dial rings are slimmer which harks back to the 5 digit "Zenith" era. Furthermore the bezel ring surrounding the ceramic insert in this iteration harks back to the four digit or "6263 Big Red" era. Other tweaks like the perfectly symmetrical case and upgraded 4131 caliber are less apparent but important to note as well. 

This example on offer features the ever popular "Panda" dial which is arguably more legible compared to its black sibling. It has a fresh '25 warranty card and comes complete from factory down to the white serialized hang tag. This piece has remained in fantastic pre-owned condition with very minimal signs of use, no distracting wear, or signs of polishing.

Dial: Flawless. Bezel insert: Excellent with no distracting wear and appears untouched. Hands: Are matching. Case: Appears unpolished with very minimal signs of use. The watch could be touched up to look new again but we'd recommend leaving it unpolished. Correct signed crown. Bracelet: Appears unpolished and shows very light signs of use with no stretch and is fully linked. Crystal: Clear. Accessories: Both boxes, papers, serialized and wax tag, all booklets, paper wallet. The movement is running well on our timegrapher and comes with our 6-month mechanical warranty.
