The Explorer II "Polar" has finally gotten the recognition it deserves as collectors are understanding its significance in the sport Rolex lineup. While it isn’t the only white dial sport model, it has the potential to stand as a highlight in any collection of tool watches for its crisp and clean appearance against an array of primarily black matte and glossy dials. Similar to the Explorer 1, we love the playful connection to adventure these watches suggest from their intended tool purpose. Today, they remain a fantastic value in comparison to most Rolex featuring a GMT complication. 

The ref. 16570 really brings everything loved about the vintage Submariner into the modern age into what is now considered a modern classic. This particular G42X example, circa 2010 (sold in 2012) is one of the very final examples produced before Rolex serial numbers became scrambled, representing the end of the "modern classic" era of production for many collectors. This piece features and engraved rehaut and the desirable 3186 caliber. It remains in fantastic condition with an unpolished case/bracelet showing light wear and sharp edges. For the discerning collector, this set retains an open papers, allowing the next custodian to make this piece truly their own.

Dial: Flawless with no blemishes under magnification. Bezel insert: Appears sharp and unpolished with black numbering still completely filled. There is a light amount of wear on its top edge but it is not distracting. Hands: Are matching. Case: Appears unpolished with sharp chamfers and thick, even lugs. Normals signs of use consistent with age. Correct signed crown. Bracelet: Correct 78790A with 12 links and light wear. It remains very tight and will fit an approximate 7.25 inch wrist. Crystal: Clear. Accessories: Inner and outer boxes, warranty papers (open), wax tag, booklets and paper wallet. The movement is running well on our timegrapher and comes with our 6 month mechanical warranty.
