The Rolex Explorer II “Polar” has been a larger focal point in the collector conversation over the past few years. It seems to be more widely appreciated now due to the fact that it is one of the few sport models with white dial. Regardless of what other opinions might be, it’s difficult to deny the beauty of a nice 16570 example.

The piece we have on offer here displays some of the most stunning “buttermilk” patina we’ve come across in a tritium dial Polar. If you’ve been looking for a top example that’s complete, this is a fantastic package fit for any level of collector.

CONDITION REPORT

Dial: Flawless with incredible matching patina across the tritium markers. All of the lume is intact.

Bezel: Fantastic surviving condition. There is a light ding at the bottom side but it is not distracting.

Hands: Are matching and happen to match the dial patina spot on. There is a very small speck of tritium missing from the base of the hour hand. It is only really visible under magnification and could be color matched down the road.

Case: Was professionally refinished. All of the lugs are thick and even and the chamfers are sharp. Honest signs of use. Correct signed crown.

Bracelet: Correct 78360 with 12 links with light stretch. Appears to have been lightly polished and has has light wear consistent with age.

Crystal: Clear.
