Debuting in 1988, the cult classic “Pepsi” ref. 16700 was Rolex’s solution for a more affordable version of their GMT Master-II. The notable red and blue insert provided the pilots who used it with the distinction of day and night in an alternate time-zone. While its predecessors functioned as a tool for pilots, this newer, but no-less-distinctive design was made available only in stainless steel with sapphire crystal.

This particular example boasts an insert where the red has faded to pink, making this piece that much more striking. It's the perfect summer watch to be dressed up and down, not to mention, a great conversation starter. The ref. 16700 was discontinued in 1999, so be sure to add this vibrant and timeless example circa 1996 to your collection before its gone.

CONDITION REPORT

Dial: No blemishes to note of.

Bezel insert: Fantastic preservation with no scuffs to point to. Very attractive and even fade.

Hands: Were color matched.

Case: Recently professionally refinished. The chamfers are sharp and prominent.

Bracelet: Correct 78360 and 501 B end links. Comes with 12 links and displays light stretch.

Crystal: Clear.
