The Rolex Submariner "Kermit" was first released in 2003 as a 50th anniversary piece to celebrate the model line. It was the first Submariner to feature a green bezel, maxi dial/hands and is now highly coveted for its historical significance. Rolex have produced very few anniversary watch models over the years and the Kermit stands out as our favorite for its unique transitional features.

For those who appreciate the finer details, this particular example has a few things that really stand out. The watch houses a Mk1 dial which is more sought after, as well as Mk1 F5X serial case which has no engraved rehaut. (Later examples have etching inside the case which is not as clean and vintage in appearance). It also comes with a Mk1 bezel insert nicknamed the "fat four" or "flat four" by collectors, as opposed to the later "pointed four." The Mk1 is truly coveted for its rarity. This particular insert is incredibly well-preserved and wonderful to enjoy in various light environments, going from lime to forest green at times.

We believe this early Kermit example to be great collector piece long term and having papers to potentially build out a complete set down the road is just the icing on the cake.

Dial: Flawless. Bezel insert: Fantastic and rare preservation to see for a Mk1 variant. There are a couple of light scuffs to the right of "50" but nothing distracting has scratched through the anodized finish. Hands: Are matching. Case: Just came back from a light touch up. Honest signs of use and the lugs are thick and evenly proportioned. Correct signed crown. Bracelet: Correct 93250 with 12 links and very light stretch. Crystal: Clear. Accessories: Papers, hang tag, and bezel protector. The movement is running well on our timegrapher and comes with our 1-year mechanical warranty.
