The Titus Calypsomatic is a fantastic off the beaten path vintage dive watch that has a cult following. It features similar design characteristics to a "Big Crown" Rolex Submariner, of course due to its oversized crown but it doesn't end there. The rotating dive bezel features a lumed triangle and the case fits elegantly at 38mm. Perhaps most notable however is the fact that it has a glossy gilt dial. This combination of vintage traits is something that Rolex collectors will pay multiple 6 figures for in top Rolex examples (reference 6538 known as the "Sean Connery" Sub for instance), but can be enjoyed for a fraction of the cost with Titus. Sure, its not the same brand but there's no arguing the relative value these pieces offer. 

This example, reference 7986 features a lightly ghosted bezel insert, unpolished case and comes with two Titus signed bracelets. The gilt dial on this watch is one of the most beautiful we've witnessed across any brand. It is mirror-like in person and very captivating to handle in the metal. Dial: Absolutely stunning preservation. All of the tritium plots have aged to a stunning and even custard color. No notable blemishes under magnification. Very glossy and the tritium lume plots have aged to a magnificent dark custard color. Bezel insert: Excellent and has taken on a beautiful fade that is lightly "ghosted." There are some light scuffs and normal signs of use consistent with age. The triangle has aged nicely and matches the dial. Hands: Are matching and their lume is stable. Case: Appears unpolished with thick and evenly proportioned lugs. Light signs of use consistent with age. Correct signed "big crown." Bracelet: Comes on a Titus "beads of rice" and with an extra Titus signed bracelet. The BOR is extremely tight and almost like new. Crystal: Clear. Accessories: Bragging rights to the end game Maxi. The recently serviced movement is running well on our timegrapher and comes with our 1-year mechanical warranty.
