On offer is a rare Patek Philippe, ref. 2417J, circa 1950s. It features a rectangular yellow gold case with worked lugs, brushed silver dial with raised markers, an Arabic numeral at 12 and small seconds at 6 o-clock. It is powered by a manual wind PP cal. 9-90 which is considered one of their most beautiful in-house movements in the "golden age" of watchmaking. It was leveraged for several other rectangular shaped watches from the late 30s to mid 50s.

This particular example has a fantastic curvature to its case/crystal that blends into the wrist. It has remained in nice vintage condition with a well defined case retaining a strong hallmark. The dial has been cleaned in the past but presents well with minimal distracting aging. It comes accompanied with later 18k PP signed pin buckle and a supple leather strap in brown. For anyone looking for the charm of a "true vintage" Patek that's all the while seldom seen, this piece makes for a great option to enjoy on wrist for years to come.

Dial: Has been cleaned in the past, as is it was designed to be and is the case with the vast majority of examples in this era. The raised enamel signature is still fairly well-defined. There are some small ages spots across the dial but nothing distracting. Overall, well-preserved for this era. Hands: Are matching and well preserved. Case: The worked lugs retain strong definition and there is a deep hallmark on the crown side. Overall, honest condition with normal signs of use. Signed crown. Crystal: Clear. Bracelet: Later Patek Philippe signed 18k pink buckle and new supple leather strap in brown. Accessories: An archive extract can be ordered to add to its provenance.
