The Zodiac Sea Wolf first arrived in 1953. It debuted on the same year as the Rolex Submariner amongst the first wave of commercially successful consumer-grade dive watches. Later known for their more colorful offerings, the Sea Wolf featured vivid pops of orange, green and blue, which made them more youthful and exciting than Blancpains and Tudors from the era. We believe that these models offer great value in today's market given their significant history.

This particular reference 722-946B features a very rare blue and white checkered "Racing" style bezel. The black gilt dial has also taken on a stunning an dark chocolate tropical patina. On top of that, the caseback has been engraved with the name "Roxie Jones" in an almost crude fashion. this arguably adds to its character however. We don't know who Roxie was but its fun to imagine the character that might have worn this example in decades past. If you've been hunting a Zodiac Sea Wolf this is a seldom seen Sea Wolf format and great conversation starter. It just came back from a full overhaul and is ready to enjoy for decades to come! 

Dial: The tritium plots are all nicely aged and present. There is a touch of lume missing in the 6 plot but it is not distracting. Bezel insert: Extremely well preserved with normal signs of use. There are some light scuffs but no cracks or chips to note of. Hands: Have been expertly stabilized and color matched to the dial. Case: Appears unpolished with very sharp lugs that are even in proportion. Correct signed crown. There is an engraving "Roxie Jones" on the back. Crystal: Clear. Accessories: Phoenix NATO-style strap in OD green. All of the functions of the watch operate flawlessly. The movement was just completely overhauled and is running well on our timegrapher. It comes with our 1-year mechanical warranty.
